13 Days Manyara |Serengeti| Ngorongoro

Detailed Itinerary-

Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport.

Assuming you arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met and transferred to Arusha at the Hotel booked.

Day 2: Arusha- Full day.

After breakfast depart for Arusha national park for half-day game drive, or a two-hour trek, through the Park. This park is home to many white colobus monkeys as well as antelope, buffalo, leopard, hyena, baboon, giraffe, rhino, elephant and hippopotamus.

Day 3: Arusha – Tarangire National Park.

Drive to Tarangire National Park. Have lunch at the luxury lodge. Afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park, famous for its huge baobab trees as well as elephants, plains game and predators. You can also expect quite a variety of bird life, including endemic species.

Days 4: Tarangire National Park – full day game drive.

Full day game drive with picnic lunch. This allows for greater range in the drive, and the chance to view more game. This can be changed so that the group returns to the lodge for lunch, but distance covered will be smaller.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park.

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park which is known for its tree climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara with a stop-over for lunch.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park.

After breakfast, take an optional morning trek with the resident wildlife specialist. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before a second afternoon game drive. Alternatively, leave after breakfast for a full day game drive with a picnic lunch.

Day 7: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater.

After breakfast in Manyara, departs for Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro Crater is regarded as the 8th natural wonder of the world and has been declared a World Heritage Site. Virtually all big game species are found here including zebra, wildebeest, rare black rhino, antelope, elephant, giraffe, Cape buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard, and monkey. It is also a birding paradise. Drive to the Lodge and check in or campsite, followed by lunch and an afternoon game drive.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater.

After breakfast, carry your picnic lunch and head to the crater for a half-day game drive. If you are lucky, you’ll get to experience the Big Five in this park. Ascend to the hotel/Lodge for your lunch. After lunch relax at the lodge waiting for or an evening sunset trek can.

Day 9: Ngorongoro – Serengeti.

After breakfast, leave for an adventurous day. Stop by a traditional Maasai village, visit with the villagers. Afterwards, drive to Olduvai Gorge and stop at the museum which overlooks the spectacular gorge. Drive through the gorge. If you would like to take an hour or two to trek through the gorge, please let Winston know! On the way to Serengeti stop by “Shifting Sands” an ancient Maasai prayer mound.

Days 10-12: Serengeti National Park.

Full day game drives in the Serengeti. This is the land of most peoples’ safari dreams. Serengeti has an amazing abundance of animals. Each day can start with breakfast at the Lodge or camp, or a box breakfast can be taken to maximize time on the plains. Carry packed lunch and be gone from lodge from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.!

Day 13 – Serengeti – Arusha.

After breakfast you collect your lunch boxes and drive to Arusha and transferred to Airport for your onward flight back home.
